Dr. Bailey studied clarinet at the young age of 10 and later taught herself how to play trumpet, saxophone, and flute. Using her skill of playing by ear and improv, she has enjoyed performing with the Howard University Showtime Marching Band, the University of Illinois Hip-Hop Collective. Several of her recent performances include playing with DJs including BLACKMAU Collaboration, Bassmint Music, DJ Medusa. She has also showcased her talents for Sipyard Soundscapes, the Urbana Farmer’s Market and the Canopy Club.
Dr. Bianca Bailey is a 2011 White House Champion of Change for Women & Girls in S.T.E.M. She recently earned her PhD in Agricultural & Biological Engineering in 2021. Dr. Bailey is also a proud HBCU Alumna from Howard University, where she studied chemical engineering and performed with the Howard University Showtime Marching Band. Currently, she is working on a mobile water treatment system that will help farmers turn livestock wastewater into clean water and profit.
