Desert Dwellers is a psychedelic downtempo and world bass duo fusing deep bass, global instrumentation, and immersive sound design.

Founded in 1999 by Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe out of the Moontribe gatherings in the Southern California desert, the project has released dozens of albums and remixes, toured five continents, and brought its sound to Symbiosis, Ozora, Lightning in a Bottle, Boom, Envision, Shambhala, and Burning Man.

In 2025 Desert Dwellers entered its most significant evolution yet. Amani Friend stepped away from touring to focus on studio production, and producer and mixing/mastering engineer Sarkis Mikael joined Treavor as the touring and creative core. Sarkis brings releases on Sol Selectas, Saisons, and Hoomidaas and a fresh spark to the project's signature ethos, Music Beyond Borders.
